Good, Free Internet Filter

Family Shield, powered by OpenDNS, is a service that can be used to filter the content accessed by anyone on your home network. Family Shield is designed to filter adult websites, proxy and anonymizer websites, and phishing websites. Step-by-step directions are provided for setting-up Family Shield on your home computer(s) and router(s).

I use Covenant Eyes for the accountability side, but this is an easy free, first step to get a lot of junk blocked out of your home. Anyone with kids who like to play video games or watch videos on the internet would be wise to get Family Shield set up in your house.

A Call to Humility

I will be preaching the morning and evening services at Igreja Batista da Vitória again today. Performed a wedding over the weekend. Both on short notice, but I enjoy serving like this.

Holy Habits or Sinful Vices?

Repetition creates neural pathways in our brains just like paths are created in the woods with each successive hiker. Our neural paths set the course for the next time we are faced with a choice. Over time these neural paths become wider as they are repeatedly traveled. We are more likely to do what we have done before. We walk the familiar paths.

Are you creating holy habits in your life, or reinforcing sinful vices?
