I think I am noticing some faint sounds today in my right ear. In the left ear, my cochlear implant is giving some clearer sounds. I think that this deafness will be a matter of weeks, not months.

Thankful for Neighbors
Praying with neighbors is a gift from the Lord. Last night, because of rain and power outages, we could not go to our church. Our neighbors could not go to their church either. We met in our house and worshipped together.

Royal Ambassadors (I was one)
As a Royal Ambassador I will do my best:
to become a well-informed, responsible follower of Christ;
to have a Christ-like concern for all people;
to learn how to carry the message of Christ around the world;
to work with others in sharing Christ; and
to keep myself clean and healthy in mind and body.

Church Bulletins
Today I am working on a style guide to help a local church create a weekly bulletin with content from church members. Anyone know of any churches doing something similar?
Preaching in Silence
Yesterday, I preached a couple of revival messages. I guess I am no stranger to preaching deaf. I did it for a few months at Pine Hill Baptist in 1997 and for several months here in Brazil in 2008. This should be temporary.

Living Comfortably
Since all of us suffer and die in this life, ultimately the measure of our life is not how long or comfortably we live, but what we do with the time we have. – Dan Bouchelle
Come and Gone
Today, I opened my yahoo email to search for an old login password. As I browsed, I found emails from three of my friends who have since died.

They Command Respect
Those who live a mortified life, who are humble and self-denying, and dead to the world, command respect; and men have a secret value and reverence for them, more than they would imagine. – Matthew Henry

Revivals
I’ve been asked to preach 4 sermons on Biblical revivals. I plan to use John the Baptist as a primary example. Care to suggest some others?
