Some news items:

• Loaise seems to be fine now, though she is still tired and a little "off."
• I had to take her sister to the hospital for a dengue fever test, yesterday. Turns out she just has a very bad cold.
• I will be leading a Bible storying workshop at a large church in Juiz de Fora on Wednesday.
• I am working on 3 blogger based websites for churches and ministries. I will post the results of at least one of them here on this blog.
• My hearing is still improving daily.
• I have blogged on some other blogs recently, but didn't post here, so check out the sidebar.

Hearing Updates

I think I am noticing some faint sounds today in my right ear. In the left ear, my cochlear implant is giving some clearer sounds. I think that this deafness will be a matter of weeks, not months.

Hearing on Sunday

 Deafness separates people from people. Restoring hearing restores relationships. Today I gave a hearing aid, sent by my sister, to Celeste, an 87-years old. She started smiling immediately upon hearing. She then praised God.

Great Day

I feel great today. Not perfect, but healthy and excited about Friday, when my cochlear implant will be activated! God is good.

Tired

I am extremely tired today. I woke up and went back to bed an hour later and slept until noon. I woke up out of breath and tired. Still am. I think it is the medicine.

Almost Normal

Weeks ago, I made a trip to the US to be with mom for a surgery. She is recovering well,I was happy to be there for her. Once back in Brazil, I had my CI surgery. Still trying to find rhythm again. Not there yet, but closer.

Sick with a fever

For the past 3 days I have had fever, an inflamed throat and some sinus problems. I am taking medicine. http://smy2ci.blogspot.com

Recovery is slow, but good.

I always underestimate my recovery time. I did again. It’s been nearly 4 weeks since my surgery. I am back to a regular routine, but still limited in some things. Here is a new blog about it all: http://smy2ci.blogspot.com

Cochlear Implant Surgery Success

On Tuesday I had my cochlear implant surgery. It is a Med-El Sonata TI 100. I have had no headaches, but some dizziness, sleepiness and swelling. Recovery will take a couple of weeks, I guess.

Cochlear Implant Surgery Tomorrow

I am having my cochlear implant surgery tomorrow, Sept 27th. Please be in prayer. It will start at 7:00 am my time and last about 5 hours.
