Recovery is slow, but good.

I always underestimate my recovery time. I did again. It’s been nearly 4 weeks since my surgery. I am back to a regular routine, but still limited in some things. Here is a new blog about it all: http://smy2ci.blogspot.com

Cochlear Implant Surgery Success

On Tuesday I had my cochlear implant surgery. It is a Med-El Sonata TI 100. I have had no headaches, but some dizziness, sleepiness and swelling. Recovery will take a couple of weeks, I guess.

Cochlear Implant Surgery Tomorrow

I am having my cochlear implant surgery tomorrow, Sept 27th. Please be in prayer. It will start at 7:00 am my time and last about 5 hours.

Cochlear Implant Update

I am leaving from the US tomorrow and will arrive in Brazil on Saturday. My cochlear implant surgery has been moved up to Tuesday. So it's 5 days away.

FBC Plaquemine

Looks like I will have another opportunity to preach. Wednesday, September 21st at FBC Plaquemine. Keith Horton is pastor, and a childhood friend of mine.

Preaching in Louisiana

I will be preaching twice on Sunday, September 18th. Morning at Calvary Baptist in Denham Springs, Evening in FBC Baker.

In Baton Rouge September 12-23

I will arrive in Baton Rouge on Sep 12. Mom’s surgery on 14th. Looking to preach a couple of times on the 18th. Leaving on 23rd. Cochlear Implant in Brazil on Oct 4.

October 4th.

My cochlear implant surgery is set. It will be on October 4th. Stitches out a week or so later. Activation one month after surgery!

Cochlear Implant Surgery update

My health insurance denied the surgery. I half-expected this, as SUS the Brazilian health system is covering it. Meeting to set a surgery date on Sep 23.

Why? or How?

"Why" questions can send us in circles, but "How" questions can lead us out to the Light. US Trip

I will be in Baton Rouge from September 12th to 23rd, for my mother’s surgery. I am looking for two different opportunities to preach on Sep 18th while I am there.

Mother’s Surgery

On September 14th, my mother is going to have a surgery on her spine to prevent permanent paralysis. Please pray for her.

Cochlear Implant Update

I met with the Brazilian One Health System dr today and filed all of the exams and paper work needed to be approved for a Cochlear Implant. Now I am just waiting for a date to be set.
